Restricted file types

We’ve restricted a few file types in our our apps to help keep your workspace safe and secure.

Blocked file types

Upload is blocked if the filename matches any of 100+ dangerous extensions, including:

  • Executables: .exe .dll .com .msi .scr .bat .cmd
  • Scripts: .ps1 .vbs .js .jse .wsf .wsh
  • OfficeMacros: .docm .xlsm .pptm .xltm .xlam
  • MobileApps: .apk .ipa
  • DiskImages: .iso .img .dmg .vhd
  • Archives (risky): .jar .cab .7z .rar .tar .gz
  • System/Shortcuts: .lnk .reg .sys .hta .msc
  • Unix Executables: .elf .bin .sh .bash .zsh
  • Server Scripts: .asp .aspx .php .jsp .cgi

(Validation is case-insensitive and blocks known variants such as .msix, .appx, .tgz, etc.)

Allowed File Types (Examples)

Safe uploads continue to work:

  • Images: jpg, png, gif, webp
  • Documents: pdf, docx, xlsx, pptx, rtf, txt
  • Audio: mp3, wav, ogg
  • Video: mp4, mov, webm
  • Archives: zip (container itself allowed)
