Depending on your needs you can use the Algo as a ring/alert extension or a Page extension.

A: Ring/Alert Extension: In this configuration The device will detect inbound ring events on the configured extension and play the alerting tone (and multicast if configured) until the inbound call stops ringing. It will not answer the call on this extension.

B: Page Extension: in this configuration The device will auto-answer any inbound call received on the configured extension and provide a voice paging path (and multicast if configured).

1. Settings to be configured in the Algo 8180 GUI

  1. On the tab additional features go to input/output.
  2. Enable Heartbeat Light, in this way we have a visual representation that the device is powered on.
  3. Press Save at the bottom of the page. 
  4. Next go to the tab Advanced Settings.
  5. Under the tab Network change this settings: 
    SIP: 26
    RTP: 46
    RTCP 0
  6. Press Save at the bottom of the page, and ignore the reboot warning.
  7. Next go to the tab Admin.
  8. Set “Introduction Section on Status Page” to off.
  9. Press Save at the bottom of the page, and ignore the reboot warning.
  10. Go to the Time tab.
  11. Change the following settings:
    Timezone: Europe / Brussels
    Supersede NTP provided by DHCP: Enable
  12. Press Save at the bottom of the page, and ignore the reboot warning.
  13. Go to the provisioning tab and set provisioning mode to Disable.
  14. Press Save at the bottom of the page, and ignore the reboot warning.
  15. Finally go to Advanced SIP and change: 
    Register period: 360
    Keep-Alive Method :Double CRLF
    Keep-Alive Interval: 15
  16. Press Save at the bottom of the page.
  17. Reboot the device from the notification or System, Maintenance, Reboot the device.

2. Adding SIP Credentials:

2a. Setting up Ring/Alert Extension

You will need the SIP credentials for the user you want to monitor
SIP credentials consist of:

  • Username
  • Password
  • Server/domain: sip.telavox.se 
  1. Go to the tab Basic Settings, SIP
  2. Here you need to enter:
    SIP Domain: sip.telavox.se
    Ring/Alert Extension: SIPusername
    Authentication ID: SIPusername
    Authentication password: SIP password
  3. Press Save at the bottom of the page.

2b. Setting up Page Extension

First you need to create A shared extension for a non-supported device to receive the following:

  • Username
  • Password
  • Server/domain: sip.telavox.se
  1. Go to the tab Basic Settings, SIP
  2. Here you need to enter:
    SIP Domain: sip.telavox.se
    Base/Page Extension: SIPusername
    Authentication ID: SIPusername
    Authentication password: SIP password
  3. Press Save at the bottom of the page.
